Do I really need an attorney to file my bankruptcy? I’m Steve Kramer of the Kramer Law Firm. I’m a Florida bankruptcy attorney.
You definitely need an attorney to file your bankruptcy.
- A bankruptcy petition is a complex document.
- Doing it wrong might not only make your bankruptcy totally worthless but can actually expose you to criminal liability.
- Knowing what the court and the trustees want is a difficult matter and there are complex rules.
- You need to do it the right way and you want an experienced attorney to do it.
Now, if you do it wrong, one of the worst things that could happen is your case can be automatically dismissed – done, finae. That’s not good. We want to do it the right way. We want to get it from start to finish smooth. And if you have an attorney you should feel like you’re being taken care of and like you got someone who will go to bat for you.
And that’s something we’re going to do.
You’ve heard the expression “Don’t make a federal case out of this.” Well, if you represent yourself in a federal bankruptcy, you’re going to be taking yourself to federal court. Federal court is not a place to learn new things. Just like you don’t even want an attorney going to federal court that doesn’t know what they’re doing and you definitely don’t want to be there. It’s not the place to learn what you’re doing.
So, why am I telling you this? Because you need to know. You don’t want to go down that road. We’ve done this a lot of times. We’ve got a lot of experience. We do this every day. I’d be happy to talk with you about your case and any questions you’ve got. You can call me at the number below.
Thanks for watching! I’m Steve Kramer.
