Equality… Even When Broke

I sometimes have difficulty finding stories involving bankruptcy that I also think would be interesting. However, with the recent legislation in New York, I did find this story interesting regarding bankruptcy and married same-sex couples.

Regardless of how you feel about the topic of same-sex marriage, it is interesting to see that the federal government will now back off its position of trying to have same-sex couples petitions dismissed from bankruptcy court. Before it seems that the U.S. Trustee's office, which is part of the Department of Justice, decided to stop trying to dismiss these cases. I have linked the story HERE so you can read more in-depth.
